Firefighting is dangerous and stressful work. Under stress, your body (and
your brain) react in certain physiological ways. You cannot control these
reactions, however, and they can impact your ability to make decisions.
A high stress situation can contain both positive clues and cues and negative clues and
cues.  A novice commander can see the cues in clues that are right in front of them, but
may not be able to comprehend the meaning of clues and cues that are missing.
