The National Fire Fighter Near Miss  Reporting System 2007 Annual Report listed issues with situation awareness as the leading contributing factor to fire fighter near miss events. 

The National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) has identified issues with situation awareness as contributing to dozens of fire fighter deaths at structure fires.

Now that we know there's a problem with fireground situation awareness, we need to do something about it!

This program will focus on the challenges faced by commanders who make decisions under stress.
